This is the fantastic Jamil referred by a person who contacted me named Felix. A professional male bellydancer from Sydney Australia. In this clip he performing 3 different dance pieces. It's a great clip because it showcases different dance props and music. First dance Jamil is using a veil, second dance he's using a cane and by the third dance he is just jamming out to a lively drum solo.
Here's the full clip:
The first song Jamil is performing to is called "Drama Queen" I happen to know this because its the same song me and my dance partner Sahjaza used to perform at Rakkasa 2007. This is a favorite song of mine because of the way the music changes so much. Anyhow back to Jamil...
I love his choice of entrance, it's so lively and loud. His veil technique reminds me of an Arabian prince. It's very masculine and strong. He plays wonderfully with the music and has fantastic characterization.
In the next dance piece Jamil pulls out a cane. Here you can see him perform a magnificent traditional cane dance number. I love his cane dance skill. I have to admit that this cane dance is my very favorite part of the video clip. I watched it many times over and over. I can't get over his wonderful poster, accents and charisma. His dance is so folk, I hope you can enjoy it as much as I do.
In the third piece. Jamil is performing a drum solo. Here you can witness his dance skill accents, rhythm and over character. He has perfect control of his dance body movements and knows his music very well which is always so critical. I love the creativity in his drum solos because he adds so much and re-creates ideas too.
Thank you Felix for your video suggestion ;-)
